This is one of my first wedding video makeovers, dating back to 2012 when I was still editing with Final Cut Pro. Gerry and Charmian were married in 1998 and had their wedding ceremony and the reception chronologically captured on a VHS tape. The complete video was over two hours long.
I digitized the footage and then created a 3-minute highlight video of the most memorable moments, syncing the video transitions to Nat King Cole's classic song “Love” from 1965. The lyrics, tempo, and vibe of the song were perfect to accompany the video footage.
In order to spice up the video, which was filmed with just one camera and lacking any artistic qualities, I utilized quick cuts on beat with the music, some split screen editing, blurs, vignettes, and other special effects to give it a little more excitement and pacing.
As there was plenty of video footage, I didn’t include any photographs in this highlight video.
